Title date 1951, CR 1951, 195 pages with index. Tan covers, all good+ condition. Illustrated endpapers with bookplate. Black and white photos in cetner of book. The Francescian order was the first to set foot on the mainland of America. The part that the men of St. Frances were to play in the dramatic history of New Spain was to become one of Christian America's most notable legacies. The Pope authorized the Order of St. Frances to create the splendid Indian Missions of the 16th Century.
