Dust jacket is white with gold lettering and a picture of a grist mill on front, black and white photos on back cover, all very good condition. Green covers with gilt lettering. Inside front blank pages are torn out. CR 1989. 178 pages with inex, black and white photos of millstones, water power, waterfalls, maps, grist mill houses, ruins of dams and mills, etc. Pittsylvania County is bordered on the south by North Carolina and on the north by the Staunton River. This is a study of an industry which pre-dated the founding of the county. Water-powered milling is a fascinating subject.
