1 Shanks, Hershel. The Mystery and Meaning of the Dead Sea Scrolls.
New York Random House Third Printing Hard Cover
Dust jacket and book very good condition. X-library with stamps, numbers, etc. CR 1998, 246 pages with index, bibliography, and notes, black and white photos. Here is the most possible account of what the scrolls reveal. Of the 800 manuscripts that were found, fewer than a dozen of them were more or less intact. others were mere fragments. The scrolls contained bewildering new material, unknown psalms, biblical commentaries, calendrical texts and apocalyptic manuscripts which seem to foreshadow Christian doctrine.
